Behind the Knitting Needles

I heart vintage clothing.
Hi,

I'm a Finn who recently moved to Idaho with my American husband and our bilingual toddler after spending the first two years of our marriage in Finland.

When I was about 11 my amazing grandmother taught me how to knit. After that I haven't been able to put my needles down for much longer than few weeks and I always have a project going on (usually several).

I came to realise what is a common skill in Finland is a rarer talent in the US and so, after much support and encouragement from my husband, American friends and in-laws I decided to sell my knittings and bring a few extra bucks to our student family.

I heart wearing dresses.
I design my patterns myself and do everything by hand. I don't possess a long attention span so mittens and flower headbands and other small projects are my thing. Newly discovered object of countless design ideas are potholders! Most of what I make are one-of-kind and unique just because I don't have time to duplicate my designs when there's ten other ideas running through my head!
